3D Printed Justice League Batarang

I apparently really like batarangs. But who doesn't?!? I made one out of foam last year and I 3D printed one about a month ago. Now, after seeing Justice League, I felt the urge to print another one. This time, it's the latest Affleck version from Batman V Superman and Justice League. Here's the Flash asking if he can keep it.

The model is from Thingiverse, and you can download and print your own model here:

I printed this in two halves on my Prusa i3 MK2s with MatterHackers gray PLA filament.

You could honestly stop there and it would look decent but I decided to use filler primer for the first time to try to fill in the 3D print lines. I used about 3 coats, but the edges still didn't look smooth. So I used Bondo spot putty to fill those in. It's only the second time I've used it and I have to get a hang of how much to use. This application was just so messy.

Then everything got a good sanding with 220 grit sandpaper to get the surface as smooth as possible.

I then used a couple coats of Vallejo black airbrush primer.

And then some Vallejo gunmetal airbrush paint which I think looks awesome already!

Then I glued the two halves together with some super glue. A little line and edge weathering and an overall dark weathering and it was finished.

You can still see some of the 3D printed lines that I failed to cover up but all in all, I think it looks good!

"Can I keep this?"

And for some more scale reference, here it is with a large Batman LEGO and Funko POP

And here's a little video I took of it.

This was a great model and I highly recommend it!
