Game of Thrones: Blood of My Blood

After last week's emotional episode, Game of Thrones gave us a breather with Blood of My Blood, where some characters returned to being themselves again, and other characters just flat out returned.

The Return of Drogon

Drogon's back! And he's apparently been eating all the goats in Essos. This guy is growing bigger faster than Bran! Just look at this comparison from last season to the latest episode.

Dany now has 100,000 Dothraki followers, and Daario mentions that they'd need a thousand ships to transport them, the Unsullied, and Second Sons all to Westeros. Isn't it convenient how last week Euron Greyjoy said that he'd build that exact number of boats? Or was it Yara? Does anybody really care about Pyke anyway?

The Return of Arya Stark

Arya was like 3 credits away from graduating the Faceless Men Academy, but she decided the "No one" life wasn't for her and returned to being Arya again. Apparently, Arya prefers to do her killing with a purpose instead of the arbitrary way the Faceless Men do. Now Waif has been sent to kill her. Considering Arya got her ass handed to her repeatedly by Waif, I don't see how Arya gets out of this. Now of course if she blindfolds herself, she might survive since it seems like her fighting skills have gotten shittier since her sight returned.

The Return of Bronn?

Ho-hum, a lot happened in King's Landing but does anybody really care? Tommen and Margaery have made their choice to go religious and the Tyrells and Lannisters feel a little beaten. Jaime is stripped of being the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard and sent to Riverrun to help Walder Frey retake it. But Jaime has the bright idea of getting Bronn (yay!) and some more killers and killing that obnoxious High Sparrow. But Cersei insists he go to Riverrun to show their power.

The Return of Edmure Tully

Totally had to look up who this guy was. Last seen at the Red Wedding, Edmure Tully is Catelyn's younger brother and the current head of House Tully since most of the remaining Tully's were taken out at that wedding. Walder Frey plans to use him to recapture Riverrun which is currently controlled by Brynden Tully, the Blackfish.

The Return of Samwell Tarley

Sam returned to his ancestral home of Horn Hill where everyone was nice to him and his "family" except for dear old dad. With a perpetual scowl on his face, it took Gilly to stand up for Sam at the most awkward dinner party ever. Sam looked so defeated at that table. But later on, he decided to nut up and leave with Gilly and little Sam, but not without taking a souvenir. Heartsbane, his family's Valyrian steel sword. I fancy he's gonna make better use of it than his father is.

The Return of Benjen Stark

Good news everyone! Bran and Meera weren't left for wight fodder! Hodor's sacrifice was not in vain! Because the Three-eyed raven called on Benjen Stark to help. Last seen in season one and thought to be lost beyond the Wall, Benjen returned a little worse for wear. Turns out he got stabbed by a White Walker but the Children saved him by shoving dragonglass into his heart. Curious how this is the process to turn people into White Walkers, but MAGIC. Plus he's got that cool fiery flail.

In the episode, Bran flashes on the downloaded visions of the Three-Eyed Raven. The most interesting of which are a crap ton of wildfire, and the Mad King Aerys shouting "Burn them all!" and Jaime's subsequent kingslaying. A popular theory is now arising that Bran is responsible for the Mad King's madness much like what happened to Hodor in Bran's trip to the past. Sure, let's just blame Bran for everything.

And here's a preview of next week's episode, "The Broken Man," where Jaime meets the Blackfish, and Bronn's back! Yay!
