I did not think it was possible to get more excited but an international trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens just dropped with a bunch of new footage! Check it out!
Let's take a closer look at some of the new footage in this trailer.
This trailer is a lot more Rey-centric. Both start with her, but here she's seen outside the Star Destroyer wreckage preparing to go inside. BB-8 doesn't appear to be with her.
Sunset on Jakku is a lot like sunset on Tatooine, minus one sun of course.
New dialogue! Rey asks, "Where do you come from?" And we actually get to hear a bit of BB-8's droid-speak. Does she meet BB-8 in the wreckage?
"I know all about waiting... for my family." It doesn't actually sound like these two lines go together. Perhaps it's a bit of trailer editing to get the audience questioning why Rey is waiting around for her family, and more importantly, WHO her family is. Her Skywalker lineage is a popular rumor.
BB-8 notices something and Finn reacts.
They all go to see what's going on.

TIE Fighters flying in. Totally reminds me of the helicopters from Apocalypse Now.
The Stormtrooper "scorched earth" tactic is still used after all these years. Remember, this is probably how Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru met their crispy demise.
Not new footage but new dialogue! Kylo Ren says, "I will fulfill OUR destiny."
"I will finish... what you started." That bit's not new, but the OUR destiny part is. This just fuels the fanboy rumor that Kylo Ren is actually Luke Skywalker. My guess is that Kylo is Luke's son, which means he's talking to Grandpa Vader's melted helmet in a very Hamlet-y way.

Finn introduces himself...
to Rey on the Millennium Falcon. Which puts the timeline of the trailer into question. Does all the stuff that happens on Jakku happen before or after this introduction?
New shot of Princess Leia but she still looks concerned.
C-3PO! And he's sporting his new red arm with Poe Dameron and Leia in the background.
BB-8 watches an explosion.
Another droid reaction shot. Because the Japanese love droids?
New shot of X-Wings flying into battle! This one looks like a GoPro is strapped to the outside of one.
Rey runs to get her staff.
Chewbacca!!!
Holding a detonator! This scene is spliced with the bridge scene blowing up in the previous trailer. Probably some more creative editing.
Rey's in trouble!
So Kylo encounters both Finn and Rey. At least Finn had a lightsaber to try and defend himself. I'm not sure how Rey is getting out of this one.
It's a bunch of new footage but I still have no idea of what's going on. The trailers have done a great job of not giving away too much information, which in turn fuels rampant fan speculation. There should be Vegas odds on this.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18th! And it really can't get here soon enough!
