The Force Awakens Teaser #2 Breakdown

The first trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens gave us glimpses of some of the new characters, and a huge dose of nostalgia at the end with the Millennium Falcon soaring through the sky. The second trailer was released a few days ago and hit a lot of those same notes. Take a look.

The plot is still kind of hazy but there are certain details that have come out of the Star Wars Celebration event that occurred this past weekend that have shed some light on the film. So let's breakdown this trailer and get to some of those details.

When a Star Destroyer gets defeated, all that mass has to go somewhere. This one has crash landed on this sandy planet along with a lone X-Wing in the foreground. According to director J.J. Abrams, this planet is called Jakku and will be featured in Star Wars: Battlefront.

There's a vehicle travelling across the background. It's most likely Rey, the character played by Daisy Ridley who is described as a scavenger. Looks like she's got tons of junk to scavenge.

Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker begins the narration with dialogue from Return of the Jedi.

"The Force is strong in my family. My father has it." Think Luke might go back to the forest moon of Endor to see dear old dad?

"I have it." The assumption here of course is this hooded figure is Luke. His robotic hand no longer has artificial skin on it. He's going au naturale.

"My sister has it. You have that power too." This scene could be a literal passing of the torch. If Luke's dialogue is accurate, this could be Leia handing over this lightsaber (which looks a lot like Anakin's saber, the one Obi-Wan gave to Luke, and the one Luke lost in Empire when his hand got chopped off) to her daughter who is suspected to be Rey.

Just like in the first trailer, some X-Wings skimming the water's surface from a different angle.

And Oscar Isaac as Poe Dameron looks to be having the time of his life.

There's that tri-bladed lightsaber in action.

Rey, Finn, and BB-8 running away from an explosion. This is the first time we've seen Finn out of his Stormtrooper outfit.

Kylo Ren using the Force. It still hasn't been confirmed that Adam Driver from Girls is playing him.

Here's a better look at the new Stormtrooper design, and the new logo for the Empire, which is actually now called "The First Order."

Here's Rey again looking up into the distance.

At TIE Fighters?!?

There's some havoc going on in this hanger. Look at that poor Stormtrooper getting blown away. I betcha there'll be a Wilhelm scream here.

And here's Jon Boyega again as Finn, this time in his Stormtrooper outfit. He confirmed at Star Wars Celebration that his character was indeed a Stormtrooper and not in disguise.

The Empire, ahem First Order still has Star Destroyers and starships.

And they also apparently have Chrome-Troopers. This guy's one step away from being a cylon.

BB-8 peeking around the corner in the Millennium Falcon.

Rey doing her best Sarah Connor impression to Finn...

"Come with me if you want to live."

Those TIE Fighters from the first trailer are still after the Millennium Falcon.

It takes balls to fly through a Star Destroyer. Or is that Mega-Maid?

The TIE pilots have new outfits too. Although they lost one of their hoses.

So the Millennium Falcon has flown through the Death Star AND a Star Destroyer now? This ship is worthy of its legendary status. What? You've never heard of the Millennium Falcon?

Nostalgia Shot! Just three little words from Han Solo, "Chewie, we're home," made the Internet go nuts. So what does "we're home" mean? My guess, they somehow lost the Falcon, and are now reclaiming it. Why else would they have weapons drawn on their own ship?

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens December 18th, and it can't get here fast enough!
