New Cast Members for Game of Thrones Season 5

New cast members for Game of Thrones season 5 were just announced at Comic Con. And here's the video of all the newbies introducing themselves!



It's a lot of new faces and a few familiar ones so let's take a closer look at who these people are and who they're playing.


Alexander Siddig will be playing Doran Martell, the prince of Dorne, the Lord of Sunspear, and the older brother of the late Prince Oberyn. Siddig is probably best known for his role as Dr. Julian Bashir on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. But he's also appeared in episodes of 24 and The Walking Dead.

Toby Sebastian will be playing Trystane Martell, Doran's son, heir to to the House of Dorne, and betrothed to Myrcella Baratheon. Toby's really a newbie having only appeared in one movie called After the Dark. He kind of reminds me of Rider Strong from Boy Meets World.

Nell Tiger Free will be playing Myrcella Baratheon, Cersei & Jamie's daughter who was shipped off to Dorne by Tyrion Lannister. Nell's another newbie whose name would probably fit right into the Game of Thrones world.

DeObia Oparei will be playing Areo Hotah, the captain of Prince Doran's guards. DeObia has had minor roles in Moulin Rouge!, Doom, and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.

Enzo Cilenti will be playing Yezzan, a slave trader from Yunkai. Enzo has been around for a while appearing in Next, The Rum Diary, and Kick-Ass 2.

Jessica Henwick will be playing Nymeria (Nym) Sand, one of Prince Oberyn's eight bastard daughters known as the Sand Snakes. Jessica had the lead role in the BBC children's series Spirit Warriors.

Rosabell Laurenti Sellers will be playing Tyene Sand, another of the Sand Snakes. Rosabell is another new face whose work has mainly been in Italy.

Keisha Castle-Hughes will be playing Obara Sand, another of the Sand Snakes. Keisha is best known for her Oscar nominated performance in Whale Rider.

Jonathan Pryce will be playing High Sparrow, the leader of a religious movement formed during the War of the Five Kings. Pryce is probably the most well known name on the list having acted since the 80's. I remember him best from the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise and as the villain in the James Bond movie Tomorrow Never Dies. He was most recently the President of the United States in the G.I.Joe movies.

This news makes me excited for Game of Thrones again and sad at the same time because it's still 8-9 months away. How about you? What do you think? It's entirely too early to be excited for Game of Thrones again isn't it?!?
