The latest trailer for How To Train Your Dragon 2 just came out and it does reveal a major plot point teased in previous trailers so beware of spoilers! The first movie really surprised me with how entertaining it was, and this one doesn't look to disappoint either. Anyway, here it is! Useless trivia; the song used in the trailer is one of my faves, Kings and Queens by 30 Seconds to Mars, fronted by recent Oscar winner Jared Leto, in case you didn't know.

Bruce Timm, one of the geniuses who brought us Batman: The Animated Series, a show a lot of us grew up with, comes back to deliver us a short for the 75th Anniversary of Batman, titled "Strange Days." In it Batman, takes on Dr. Hugo Strange. It's great to see this classic style again, and to hear Kevin Conroy, albeit briefly as Batman again. So take 3 minutes out of your day and remember how great cartoons were in the 90's.

Could Mystique be the next spin-off film in the X-Men franchise? According to an Entertainment Weekly interview with producer Lauren Shuler Donner, it's definitely an idea to kick around along with movies for Deadpool and Gambit. Now, the potential Mystique movie is definitely riding the train of goodwill that Jennifer Lawrence has created. With the blockbuster Hunger Games franchise, and critically acclaimed roles in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle, Jennifer Lawrence seems to be a can't miss commodity, and branching her off into a starring role is probably a good idea. My general apathy towards X-Men: Days of Future Past revolves mainly around how dark it seems and how crowded the film is. Maybe lightening the load and focusing on a singular character is good move. Of course, I'd still rather see a Deadpool movie, and I think Ryan Reynolds actually did a good job as the merc with a mouth, in the scenes in which he had a mouth of course.

On the flipside of movies that are actually happening, back in February, casting notes dropped on the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. Yesterday Kate Mara finally confirmed her involvement in the reboot. She alludes to the film as being a very "grounded version of a superhero film." There's a lot of leeway there as that could mean anything from the grittiness of Batman to the techno-fun of Iron Man. But I suspect the direction of the film is to distance it as far as it can from the two previous movies which went the "fun" route and ended up being astonishingly bad and campy. To me, this reboot is the biggest wild card because I really have no idea who any of the actors are, nor am I familiar with director Josh Trank's work. Oh yeah, and Toby Kebbell is going to be Doctor Doom. I don't know who he is either, but I do know that he's British and should be way better than Julian McMahon.
