A Tribute to Harold Ramis
Monday February 24, 2014 Catchup
Back in September of 2006, a little show called Heroes premiered on NBC and brought ordinary "superheroes" to TV. Well, Heroes is coming back to TV in 2015 as Heroes Reborn. That first season of Heroes, save for the last episode, was great. It was new, and the story was clever and compelling. I enjoyed it so much I wrote episode recaps. Then in the second season, the writer's strike happened, the writing lost focus which derailed the show and it was never the same. I still wrote about it, but it was more out of hope the show would get better. It didn't and by season 3, I was off the boat as were millions of others. Now NBC is bringing back series creator Tim Kring to launch Heroes Reborn as a 13 episode mini-series. While the news doesn't have me excited, I'm at the very least interested in what this may become.

Meet the Guardians of the Galaxy
Marvel is doing their best to introduce the public to the Guardians of the Galaxy because I would venture to guess, unless you follow the comics, most of us have no idea who these guys are. The first trailer came out yesterday, and today Marvel released little 30 second clips with behind the scenes interviews designed to introduce each character.
Fantastic Four Reboot Cast, And I Got 3 out of 4 Wrong
Left to Right: Kate Mara, Jamie Bell, Michael B. Jordan, & Miles Teller |
When I first saw who had been cast in Fox's reboot of Fantastic Four I said to myself, okay, this person could work for Johnny Storm, and this person might fit the Thing, and so forth. Little did I know, Kate Mara was the only obvious casting choice. So can you figure out who is playing which Fantastic Four member?

Game of Thrones: A Foreshadowing
Earlier this week, Game of Thrones released a 14 minute video full of all sorts of goodies including interviews & scenes from the upcoming season. Here's what I learned from this video:
- Peter Dinklage says the Red Wedding will be topped this year. I will have my cat videos ready just in case.
- Tyrion is in super trouble this year, & Jaime will be giving his brother a helping hand. Oops, too soon?
- Who is Oberyn Martell? And if he's seeking vengence against the Lannisters, I'm already on his side.
- Maise Williams describes how Joffrey sits on the Iron Throne as squiffy. This is immediately my new favorite word.
- The Royal Wedding of Joffrey & Margaery looks to rival that of the actual Royal family.
- Daenerys Targaryen is losing control of her cities, AND her dragons.
- Jon Snow & Sam sounds like the makings of an awesome buddy cop film.
- Kit Harrington thinks Bronn has the best quotes. I completely agree!
- The producers promise a more thrilling, action packed season full of climactic events. We're in for a roller coaster of a season!
Here's the video, and tell me you're not more excited for April 6th to get here!

Transformers: Age of Extinction Trailer Breakdown
By now, you've probably seen the trailer for Transformers: Age of Extinction which aired during the Super Bowl. The 30 second commercial is total Michael Bay with explosions and rapid cuts leading people to have no idea what's going on. The only thing I really remember is Optimus Prime riding Grimlock so let's take a look at the rest of the trailer.

24: Getting Caught Up
By now you've all probably seen the teaser trailer for 24: Live Another Day. (Kind of like James Bond's Die Another Day, I see what you did there FOX) And it really was just a tease of Jack helping Chloe walk through chaos in the streets of London while Jack fires his gun and screams at someone off-screen. For a show that prides itself on its real-time story telling gimmick, a slo-mo promo is... different. Anyway, it's been 4 years since we last saw Jack, so let's get caught up a bit...
